Phil Banks has been sober since February 19, 2004 and is from Scituate, MA. Phil’s father is also sober and has been in AA for a couple of decades as well. Phil had everything he needed growing up: he had plenty of friends, played sports, had stable parents and siblings. Phil says the problems was him, and still is. Simply put, he loved to get drunk… Initially it wasn’t to escape his feelings, and was just for ‘fun’. But, things eventually progressed, life happened and he ended up broken due to alcohol and drugs. Phil has since become the man he was raised to be. He is now a good: son, husband (sometimes), step-dad, employee and brother. Phil has been a member of AA for 20 years or so with 15 years of continuous sobriety.
